Ruben’s a tool. Vanilluxe for life.

  2. Emily says:

I gotta go with Ruben on this one. I thought the same thing when I saw Trubbish.
    /such a nerd

  3. Lillian says:

Vanilluxe is ugly, but at least it has good stats. And I guess I can forgive Trubbish, too, because its name is adorable.

But yeah, I hate the Pokemon fandom’s habit of automatically hating anything new.

I don’t mind the ice cream-ness of Vanilluxe, but I don’t get the idea of Pokemon with more than one head or brain. But that’s been around since Generation I.

  5. M says:

My giant turtle with cannons on it’s back is way more realistic than an ice cream cone pokemon.

    God.

  6. Sela says:

I caught a Tympole and named him Testicle.

I’m not turning 24 this summer, I swear.

  7. The Urn says:

This is hilarious and quite coincidental as I have a friend who just broke up with his boyfriend PRECISELY BECAUSE he didn’t like Pokemon (and didn’t believe in evolution I think). But yeah, nice comic relief.

  8. DOG says:

I didn’t think it was possible to adore ben2 more than I already do. I was clearly mistaken.

  9. Ellie says:

    jeez
its all relative. you like the first 151 because they were just that, first and therefore you had nothing to base it off of. now people are just being jaded about their pokemon….hrmph…

Balderdash. The original designs were as simple as possible because of the hardware limitations. You knew what you were looking at (most of the time.) As each generation has come out, the designs have become more complex and less based in reality or common folklore.

The newest two generations have a lot of over-designing simply because it’s possible. Piplup and its evolutions, for instance. The last one in that evo line doesn’t even make linear sense.

I’d hate to see his reaction to the Litwick evolution chain.

*just caught a Litwick 5 minutes ago*

Just wanted to let you know, in case it would jack up your archiving or anything, that the date for this comic seems to be incorrectly referring to March 5th instead of March 15th.

Just discovered the comic today (linked from Octopus Pie) and loved it. Read the whole archives in one sitting!

  12. Hey, I JUST noticed your RSS feed isn’t working when I tried to subscribe 🙁 Just an FYI!

  13. That SNAP panel of Benjamin is GORGEOUS.
