Werner Herzog would lionize a corrupt mayor in drag and a terrible bald cap, but I don’t think he’d worry about someone else’s work being more emotionally affecting afterwards. That is literally the only difference between Marlene and Werner Herzog.
I dunno, I think she’s saying that Marlene isn’t boring, she just hasn’t done art on anything related to the very real events in her life. Which you know what? That’s fine. Not all art needs to be introspection. BUT, cleo is drunk and self-pitying so it came out as “well at least your mom is dead”.
